Neymar professional team debuted at Santos on March 7, 2009, against the West,Itápolis in Pacaembu Stadium, won the match 2-1 Santos valid for the Campeonato Paulista. Neymar scored the first goal of career on March 15, 2009, against Mogi Mirim,in the Pacaembu Stadium, won the match 3-0 Santos valid for the Campeonato Paulista.
Later, in the semifinals of the competition, Palmeiras, Santos faced, and won bothgames 2-1, and Neymar scored the winning goal in the first game, held at Vila Belmiro.The player did not repeat the performances in two exciting games that decided the final of the Paulistão, and "fish" ended up with the Championship, losing the title to Corinthians. However, the revelation was elected Neymar League. The Brazilian Championship was highlighted along with Paul Henry Goose, but the Saints ended up finishing in 12th position.
